Browns sign DB Reggie Porter off Ravens practice squad

The Browns didn’t fill Corey Coleman’s roster spot with a receiver.

Instead, they signed defensive back Reggie Porter to the active 53-man roster from the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad.

Porter (5-foot-11, 185 pounds) is an undrafted rookie from Utah. He was originally signed by the Indianapolis Colts. He spent the first two weeks of the season on Baltimore’s practice squad.

He had 16 pass breakups and two interceptions in 36 games for the Utes.

The Browns placed Coleman, their No. 1 receiver, on injured reserve Tuesday following surgery Monday to repair a broken bone in his right hand. He must miss at least eight weeks and won’t be eligible to return until Nov. 19 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
