Changes are likely at the bottom of the roster — possibly a handful of them — after the league cuts rosters from 90 to 53 on Saturday afternoon. The Browns have first priority on the waiver wire and will have about 1,000 players to pick from, so general manager John Dorsey seems certain to do some last-minute tinkering.
Therefore, it’s impossible to predict the exact roster for the opener Sept. 9 against the Steelers. But it’s a fun exercise, so here’s a shot at the initial 53-man roster to be set Saturday at 4 p.m.
The toughest spots to predict are the ones likely to see an addition over the weekend — offensive line, defensive line and possibly receiver. The third tight end and fullback jobs are also tricky, given the lingering injuries to tight end Seth DeValve and fullback Danny Vitale.
