New WR Breshad Perriman inactive, LB James Burgess returns after missing 2 games; Chargers without starting RT

CLEVELAND — New receiver Breshad Perriman is inactive for today’s game against the Chargers at FirstEnergy Stadium.

He was signed Saturday after a morning workout to replace undrafted rookie receiver Derrick Willies, who was placed on injured reserve with a broken collarbone. Willies was injured in practice Friday after landing awkwardly.

Perriman didn’t have time to get up to speed, and there were no surprises on the inactive list.

Receiver Rashard Higgins (knee) and backup linebacker/special teamer Tanner Vallejo (concussion) were ruled out Friday.

The healthy scratches are No. 3 quarterback Drew Stanton, defensive tackle Carl Davis, offensive lineman Earl Watford and defensive back Tavierre Thomas.

Backup linebacker James Burgess (knee) is active after being listed as questionable on the injury report. He missed the last two games after getting hurt vs. the Jets.

The Chargers were forced to make a kicking change.

Rookie Michael Badgley will make his NFL debut, with Caleb Sturgis (quadriceps) inactive. Badgley was signed during the week.

Los Angeles is on its sixth kicker in 22 games under coach Anthony Lynn.

The Chargers are also without starting right tackle Joe Barksdale (knee). Sam Tevi will start in his place.

Rookie outside linebacker Kyzir White (knee), defensive end Joey Bosa (foot) and receiver Travis Benjamin (foot) were ruled out Friday and are inactive.

Uchenna Nwosu will start for White, and Damion Square for Bosa.
