Center JC Tretter active, in starting lineup a month after knee surgery

Center JC Tretter made it back from knee surgery in time for the season, and to keep his consecutive-snaps streak alive.

Tretter is active and will start today in Baltimore in the opener after having arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 13, the day before training camp practices started. He returned to practice Monday and was limited all week.

Tretter has played every offensive snap since signing with the Browns as a free agent in 2017.

Rookie fifth-round pick Nick Harris took his spot with the starters in camp and would’ve been his replacement.

The Browns didn’t have any surprises on their inactive list.

Cornerbacks Greedy Williams (shoulder) and Kevin Johnson (lacerated liver), linebacker Mack Wilson (knee) and offensive lineman Chris Hubbard (ankle) were ruled out Friday. Rookie receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones and newly acquired defensive end Joe Jackson are healthy scratches.

Terrance Mitchell will start for Williams, and rookie third-rounder Jacob Phillips will take Wilson’s spot.
