MORE TIME NEEDED: Jerome Ford returned kickoffs as a rookie in 2022 and is one of the options this year. He hasn’t seen enough of the new “dynamic” kickoff to say whether he likes it.
“It’s OK,” he said Wednesday. “I really don’t know. I got to see it some more.”

With the vast majority of the blockers and coverage guys lined up 5 yards apart, some believe the play will more resemble a run from scrimmage rather than a special teams play. Ford isn’t so sure.
“I compare it more to like a punt return,” he said. “They’re already right there, you catch the ball, you get time to run.”
He trusts special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone will have the right plan when the season starts.
“Oh, yeah, we are getting it figured out,” Ford said. “Bubba is doing a great job of preparing us.”
NEWS OF THE DAY: Deshaun Watson stopped throwing during practice with what coach Kevin Stefanski called “general arm soreness.” Running back Pierre Strong Jr. was taken to a hospital during practice and released. The Browns said he had a rib contusion and was transported by ambulance as a precaution because he had shortness of breath.

CAMPER OF THE DAY: When receiver Jerry Jeudy practices, he makes plays. Jeudy missed a lot of time with a lingering knee injury but has been back for a week and showed up again Wednesday, catching short, intermediate and deep passes from Watson and Jameis Winston.
PLAY OF THE DAY: Jeudy ran a deep post from the right side, caught the pass from Winston on the left hashes and cruised into the end zone.
